Trusts
What is a Trust?
A trust is a relationship in which a person transfers something of value to another person. The person transferring is called the trustor. The person that receives the transfer is called the trustee. The trustee then manages and controls this asset (property) for a third person, called a beneficiary.
Trusts have several operations. One of the uses of a trust is to provide flexible control of property for young children. A trust set up for children can avoid further legal proceedings, such as the appointment of a conservator. A conservator is someone who is appointed by the court to control the assets of minor children.
